How did anti-semitism begin and why are Jews persecuted more than any ethnic group in history?

I understand why societies can be wrongfully ignorant of blacks because of their skin color or gays because their lifestyles counter traditional teachings/perceptions.

But why Jews? Why have they been persecuted so much in history?

Because Christianity regarded them as ‘the murders of Jesus’ for centuries.

Anti-Semitism is essentially an European-Christendom phenomenon. No jew bashing out of that area until the 2WW.

PS: I laugh at your negatives. Please check your history. Try to learn where and how the word ‘pogrom’ came from, about the expulsions in Spain and about the generalized persecution in Christian Europe during the Middle Ages and early Modern Era. While, at the same time, they were essentially not disturbed anywhere else until the end of the 2WW. Hitler took his Anti-Semitism from the Christian roots of Europe, not from anywhere else.

God didn’t choose any other race to be His own, to fellowship with the Living God. But they reject Him and His ways. "Those to whom much is given, from them much will be required."
Their Scriptures record their God killing Jews Himself many times and punishing them severely. It’s part of His Covenant. They could choose to do His will and be blessed, or choose their own ways and suffer.
(It would’ve been good for Christians to have realized this. It appears, that in the long run, it’ll go worse for them. They can be so dense, they probably won’t realize it’s God either & will just think they’re martyrs.)

    Who knows?

We as Christians need to love everyone universally! We can’t except to be held responsible for everyone in the world, especially those that lived 1000’s of years before us. We are only responsible for our own sins.

    My thought:
Bigotry and racism starts when we lump people into groups instead of treating them as individuals.

Part of the problem is that they were jerks to the early Muslims… Muhammad ended up writing a lot of nasty hateful stuff about them and now all Muslims today get to read that vile garbage in their scriptures, the Qur’an.

Not to mention the Jews killed Jesus =) (jk!… sort of)

One comment about gay people…. last time I checked gay people don’t have a different lifestyle than most other people. In fact all the gay people I’ve ever known were quite normal, average Americans.

Probably because they show loyalty to their religion above the state in which they live.

Surely ALL the nations that have persecuted them through history can’t be wrong!

It happens when a group of people set themselves apart and don´t mingle freely with the rest of society. Another example are the gypsies. Still, as far as I know, the Jews don´t seem to cause social problems as the gypsies. At least not round here. The Jews will happily work with us ´Goys´ and socialise, too while the gypsies seem to think that everyone is out to get them and have very low self esteem as a group. Sad, but true. I live next to a gipsy camp and the gypsies do not cause any problems at all but they will just not integrate. An example is they will not pay taxes but then demand free health care.

Like most racial issues, this one also comes from ignorance. Jews dress differently, eat differently and have a different cosmovision based on the Torah. Human nature is to fear that which we can’t understand, and frustration and jealousy leads to anger and hate.

The Blood-libel charge was first leveled by the Greek, Apion, pre-Christianity. He accused Jews of stealing Greeks and fattening them up for sacrifice.

It has been speculated by historians and scholars that Apion’s accusation was revenge for the slanderous things Jews said about Greeks, and non-Jews in general.

You don’t make friends with non-Jews by slandering them as people not to be trusted to care for your animals because they are so immoral they’ll have sex with them.

The Jews problem is, and always has been, their own mouth. The hostility and contempt they have for their non-Jewish neighbors has made them historically a very unlikable people.

Constantine on his death bed allowed Christianity to be a legal region, or hath this lore goes. That was in 312 AD. Then people who were a mixture of Khazar’s, and Germanic. They blended in with the people but considered themselves the "chosen" ones. Then they were very bright, some say greedy, people got resentful. Then 130,000 Jewish women and children and some Gypsies and other people who were "inferior" to a monster on red and black. Germany loves war hero’s. Mien Kemp (spelling) Was a long ranting book that I read at 16 about Hitlers furious anger at the loss of Germany during WW2. So these now white people, who have some problems with interbreeding, no offense…well, in 1948 they took over Palestine. There aren’t alot of Jewish people in the world. There are 6 million Jewish people in America right now though. Some are just good people. Some are monsters. Some oft them are greedy. They have a thought process that tells them to throw it around, own the big banks, federal reserve, Hollywood, and Obama’s cabinet. And the new female supreme court justice. But a lot of blame can be put on Christian Americans who worship this foolish Sun God religion. Look up Horus the Sun God on You Tube. There are only two parties in America. And those parties are both owned by corporations. Many are Zionists. Some are not, but they still have the same though process of greed. Look it up. Don’t report me, I am just against greed. That is it. Peace

When the Roman historian Tacitus pointed out 19 centuries ago that the Jews are unique among the peoples of the world in their intense hatred and contempt for all peoples but their own, he was only repeating what many other scholars had discovered before him. For the next 1,900 years other investigators came to similar conclusions, either from a study of the Jews’ religious writings or from a study of the Jews’ behavior toward non-Jews.
