Jews: Have you experienced any anti-semitism outside of the internet?

I’m just wondering what kind of Anti-Semitism there might be in first-world countries like the States or the UK toward jews. If you have experienced any, what form has it taken?

answer: Yes. I had a friend of over 20 years physically pull away from me after a ‘hi, how are you doing?" hug – she saw my Star of David and she lost her smile. I stated I had converted to Judaism and she shut down emotionally and withdrew the request to connect with me on Facebook.

Three members of my former religious group (Heathenism) emailed me that judaism wasn’t for "our kind". WTH? What’s our kind? Scots? Welsh? Swedish? No, I knew the translation was: White. Maybe they overlooked the fact that I’m half Native American. Maybe they thought I was only half-Heathen?

A synagogue was spray painted with swastikas and the words "death to all kikes" this last fall.

That said – other Heathens, pagans and Christian friends and family have been very supportive and have expressed that they don’t have a problem with my conversion (my minister nephew would prefer if I had converted to Christianity, of course).

We once had people drive past our synagogue yelling something profane at us, but that was the extent of it. Because many Jews are Israel supporters, we get most of our antisemitism from that issue. People can’t stand the fact that Jews can finally defend themselves…I’ve lost friends over the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
