what is the difference between anti-zionism and anti-semitism?
hi, i was just wondering what the different was between anti-zionism and Anti-Semitism.
is anti-zionism the act of being against all opposing religions and political views, and anti-semitism is being against the jewish faith, specificially? it seems to be more complex than that, though. thanks!
Labels are for cans, and they can be as descriptive or arcane and complex as you want to make them, but your understanding is basically correct.
Anti-Zionists oppose any Jewish theocratic state, such as Israel and want to see a secular state in Palestine which affords citizenship and equal rights to Jews, Moslems and Christians alike without regard to race or nationality.
Anti-Semites are racists who hate persons of jewish religion or ancestry. Even though there are other Semitic peoples, and judaism is a religion and not a race, this is the common usage of the term.

Anti semitism dislikes all jews. Anti zionism hates what the jews have done within the world.

Anti-semitism means you oppose jews. Anti-zionism means you oppose a nation based on jewish faiths. I’m anti ANY theocracy.

Antisemitism is hatred, fear or bigotry towards the jewish people.
Zionism is the belief in jewish national self-determination.
Anti-Zionism is opposing the belief in jewish national self-determination.
Though antisemitism and Anti-Zionism are different there is a great deal of overlap. It doesn’t take long for a self-professed non-jewish ‘anti-zionist’ to slip up and reveal their true bigotry.

zionism: A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to reestablish a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
Anti-zionism is against Jews who seek to establish a homeland.

I don’t think governments should be exclusive to one particular religion… if that makes me an anti-zionist so be it…
