How do people expect Israel to stop fighting if Hamas does not honor a ceasefire when there is one?
When there was an agreement to stop fighting yesterday in Israel so that food and aid could be sent to civilians on both sides, Hamas shot over 10 rockets at them.
What kind of mess is that?
And by the way I am not jewish.
1. Israel is occupying Palestine land. Remind you the country of entire Israel is sitting on Palestine after forcefully removed Palestines from their homes.
2. Israel placed blockade on Gaza for years. That means food, and basic items shortage.
3. If I kicked you out of your house by force, killed your sister in process….and now I live in your house, and you sleep in your backyard. And i shoot anyone who dare to deliver food to your family because I placed a blockade on you. Now you want to throw stone at me, but I warn you if you do so i will shoot your dad. Is it fair? Because you threw that stone at "my" house first. It gives me every right to shoot you terrorists back with a gun.
4. One day, my itch finger pulled the trigger, and a bullet shot your brother. However, I control the media. Everyone knows you threw stone at me first because the media said so. (if you still don’t get it, Israel started it first even this incident. Hamas never fired first. Media can easily fill your brain with false basic information).

To the haters, it doesn’t matter. Israel is wrong, no matter what they do according to them.
I think Israel is being pretty restrained in how they are handling it. I would probably level Gaza and be done with Hamas.

Hamas needs eradicated. They cry and whine because Israel steps up to defend themselves against a constant barrage of bombs. Now that they step up, Hamas whines like the babies they are and tries to get other countries like Lebanon in the mix.

Somehow, people actually believe that a terrorist will abide by any rules. They don’t care how many innocent people die. That is why they blow up markets, hide in schools and hospitals etc.

People who dont support Israel want them to lay down their weapons, take down their flags, and flee for their lives to the rest of the world.
Everybody else expects they will do what they need to do in order to survive. Israel has one motto: NEVER AGAIN.

I am answering you question. This is why people should expect Israel to stop fighting:
1.) When Israel fights the damage output is enormous-hundreds of civilians are getting killed, infrastructure is crumbling, etc.
2.) In comparison, Hamas aggression is small, though inexcusable.
3.) Any ceasefire that Israel offers forces their opposition to make huge concessions (reasonable considering the relative positions-but still unfair)
4.) Israel is tainting their reputation by continuing this. Even if all or most of Hamas is eradicated, the world will look down upon Israel for its inhumane tactics. Thus, it is in fact better for Israel to stop now.
5.) This war will anyway not solve any problems in the long run, so it is futile to continue the killing.
Point is, it is in NOBODY’S interest for Israel to continue fighting (Even Israel’s).

Nazis persecuted Jews. So Nazis are bad guys.
Israelis persecute Palestinians. With tacit approval and in fact support from US no less (Bush as well as Obama). So Israelis are good guys.
The persecuted have become the persecutors.
I would not be surprised if Israel is awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2009 for showing restraint in this war — even as they continue to kill civilians, esp. women and children. Such is the topsy-turvy world we live in. State terrorism is a powerful machinery.

Chamas is a violent, awful terrorist group. They want to kill every Jew and Israeli on the planet, AND they will also gladly kill every Palestinian who doesn’t support Chamas!
And then they have the gall to blame Israel for the whole thing.

If a technologically advanced alien race encircled a whole city, starved the human population, bombed and killed the humans like fish in a barrel. Will the aliens be stupid enough to expect that the humans will honor a ceasefire?
Maybe you will expect the aliens will say to the human survivors: Stop firing potshots at my spaceship, how do you expect me to stop firing my nuclear plasma cannons at you if you don’t stop?

omg people… lets get one thing straight: the land never was the palestinians! Yes, they were on it, but it was never actually a Palastinian state! they didn’t own it!
I have HUNDREDS of good points to make on this topic, but here’s one i view as necessary to put down:
September 11, 2001. Extremist terrorists seize control of planes in America and use them as "personal missles" to crash into important buildings. America declares war on terrorism in their anger and grief. Some of the world hates them and some of it reveres them.
Now: Hamas terrorists fire over 8,000 missles into Israel with no response. Israel becomes sick of it and forms a blockade so that military action can be avoided, but it ultimately comes to that as Hamas violates a ceasefire. They wage war against terrorism. The world hates them.
How is this fair?

Many people would like to see Israel arrest and disarm Hamas militants, who are needlessly leading the Palestinians to ruin, rubble, pain, and suffering, year after year after year.
Hamas does not have the concept of honor in their constitution, and can not even honor the lives and well being of the Palestinians in the Gaza territory.
Palestinian civilians are routinely being used as human shields.
Hamas is making a big mess for the Palestinians, and their leaders should be arrested and tried like Saddam Hussein and his chronies were.
With a successful Palestinian state, Muslim nations in the Middle East will lose their propagandist anti-Israel BS. Hamas knows this and has each and every time subverted progress toward a peaceful resolution for a viable and prosperous Palestinian state.
I’m not Jewish either.
